No – there is no hybrid option. This event is in person participation only
It will be at the Century City Conference Centre in the Western Cape close to Cape Town, South Africa
No accommodation is not included in the registration fee. However, discounted accommodation rates are available to those attending the SAPICS Annual Conference. Full details can be found here: Accommodation Details
If you are booked into the Century City Urban Square, Bridgewater or Crystal Towers hotels then breakfast is included in your accommodation. If staying at the Residences there is a coffee shop in the Foyer of the hotel where you can get a snack breakfast. Remember that breakfast snacks are served in the exhibition area from 07:00 on Monday and Tuesday.
Tea, Coffee and snacks are served on Sunday, Mondy and Tuesday. These coffee breaks are sponsored by Relex Solutions
For delegates attending the workshops on Sunday 9th June light lunch is served.
Lunches are served on Monday and Tuesday with soft drinks at no additional charge.
On Monday evening a light supper is available including selected beers, wines and soft drinks which are sponsored by F.H. Bertling Logistics
Tuesday evening selected wines, beers and soft drinks will be served in the exhibition area.
The closing dinner on Tuesday evening is NOT included in your registration fee. This is an additional cost per person of R850 ex VAT and must be booked in advance. Please contact info@upavon.co.za to reserve your seat.
The good news is that not all nationalities require a tourist visa to visit South Africa for 30 days. There is a long list of visa exempt nationalities which can be found here and there is a relatively new e-visa system that applies to over 30 different countries – up to date information regarding visas can be found here – South Africa Visa – Apply Online for your South African e-Visa
For those nationalities that do require visas we strongly advise that you start the visa application process as soon as you know you will be attending the SAPICS Conference. The visa application process can take some time and delays are experienced. The organisers can provide you with letters and proof of registration to assist your application. Please don’t hesitate to ask for these via info@upavon.co.za
There is no malaria in Cape Town. If you plan to go on safari to an area that is malarial please consult with the travel experts. Winter is generally low risk however it is always worth consulting the experts.
Visitors travelling from or through countries that have Yellow Fever are required to travel with the health identity document showing proof of yellow fever vaccinations.

Uber is also frequently used in Cape Town.
The local currency is the South African Rand which is broken down into cents. 100 cents = 1 Rand. Credit cards are widely used. There are ATMs (cash machines) readily available to draw cash. There are exchange facilities at the airport and many of the mainstream banks will assist with foreign exchange.
Business casual.
For men this could include trousers, polo shirts or button-down shirts and closed shoes. Ties are optional. National dress is welcome.
For women this could include trousers, skirts or dresses paired with blouses or sweaters. Closed-toe shoes or dressy sandals are typically acceptable. National dress is welcome.
Cape Town will likely be cool and possibly wet.
June is considered low tourist season in Cape Town as winter sets in. Average temperatures are around 17°C (63°F) during the day, and around 8°C (46°F) at night. The Western Cape is a winter rainfall region which can mean downfalls during June. As this is a water scarce area the rain is welcomed but guests should remember to dress appropriately. You need to prepare for a wide variety of conditions.
South Africa is an exciting country to explore. Even if you are only here for a short time there is so much to see and do and we highly recommend that you plan your travel for the SAPICS 2024 Annual Conference to arrive early and leave late if you can! There are a multitude of great websites. Here are two that we recommend. The City of Cape Town is very committed to water quality and the rigorous treatment processes in place, tap water in Cape Town is generally safe to drink. However, it is always recommended to take some precautions, especially if you have a sensitive stomach or a weakened immune system.

The majority of special dietary requirements can be accommodated by Century City. The venue itself has a halaal certified kitchen. There may be additional costs to accommodate some special diets but full quotations will be provided on application.
Yes – there will be unlimited free and fast internet throughout the venue.
Yes you will receive an electronic certificate of attendance
Yes you will. Points are available for all APICS, ISCEA, DDI and IBF certifications. Visit the SAPICS stand at the conference to find out more.
The WHOVA app will provide you with the perfect platform to manage your agenda. The choice is plentiful so you would do well to spend some time beforehand planning your agenda.
Please ensure that you have reviewed the workshops – to be held on Sunday 9th June. There are 5 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. There is a booking fee of R350 ex VAT per workshop and they must be booked for ahead of time.
The same applies to site visits which will take place on the morning of Wednesday 12th June.
The closing dinner takes place on Tuesday evening, 11th June and it must be pre-booked. The cost per person is R850 ex VAT.
Yes they will – they will be available via the SAPICS conference website with some available via the WHOVA app.
